Now if I could find that sketch .... lol. I have a good slab piece of wood that will be hangable once we get our farm... Sigh - still wait wait waiting on an approval from fsa. In the mean time order something for someone you know this Christmas and help the time go by

church was happy

Delivered first sign last night to the church I'm painting them for so they can have at least one up telling time of service lol. They were happy and said will have it up on the front soon. Now to start the second one, snow tmw...maybe...unless they change their minds again so may get a little time this weekend :-o

A quick little one

If you have teenagers you've heard..... I'm gonna..... and hence where this sign came in, this one needs a little bit of touch up, going to line letters in white or order one with whatever colors you'd like .. $20 plus shipping - this one is on rough sawn but may also be a planed board - about 8-10" tall by 18-24" long. I use what I can find here and there for these type of signs.. Eye hooks will come with one of these smaller signs so you can attach a piece of twine, wire, etc and hang.

winter goal build build - share share

Anyone knowing anyone that wants a traditional hand painted sign share share share - http://outinthestickssignshop.weebly.com and help me build this up to staying home. Wood working tools are in the works - shop in the plans when usda/fsa gets us approved....sigh - it's been 4 weeks since application turned in and all we hear is we will look "in the order they came in" and "IF" we approve it we can move forward. Prayers as always they "look" at it, approve it and we can get the shop up in the spring to start offering so custom work along with the signs. We would like to get a couple of simple barn wood cabinet sets to have available along with a pie safe and maybe a hutch or two...and start building bee boxes. Lots of ideas hanging on one persons decision to help us into the farm we found. Until then.... Drop me a line...and order a sign :-) :-)

Sorry haven't posted in a couple of days...been out in the blind. :) Nope nothing yet, one sign done just needs delivered and a second to do at some time during deer season hopefully but we been running ragged so we'll see. There will be time to do a couple and have them shipped by Christmas though if you know someone that would like one of the name signs especially - They sell for $25-$40 depending on what you want on there for the most part ($20 an hour plus materials and shipping)

I read articles that hand painted sign work is on the come back... help me end my office job and stack up some orders :-) $20 an hour plus materials (a 2'x3' at Menards is about $15 if you don't mind plywood and need something yard sign sized) and shipping. I can ship pretty easy up to 24"x48" I think. Have a sign all faded and worn out in your yard? If your in mid-Michigan shoot me a note and I'll write you up a quote. Just need a small sign for your house to advertise what you do or eggs for sale or the such, most of those are in the $25 range plus shipping.

If I didn't have the 8-5 this would be done and out today...but alas I still need that check :/ A couple more layers to go, a bit more of the red, another layer of bright blue and some touch up finish work to go. Coming along though

second day's work - one hour at a time :p

First pic is this morning after third coat, second pic is of yesterday after second coat, third pic is a name sign. The Church sign will take close to 4 hours total by the time highlights and all lettering layers on - they provided the white painted wood for the sign which equals art wise a $80 cost per sign. The Wilsons sign below was an hour plus materials at a cost of $25 as there was no shipping. Hope this helps bloggers to determine to go old fashioned next time :-)

Started....

Not done by no means but at least started at lunchtime :-) - couple more coats of the main color, the highlight/shadows hopefully tomorrow. All hand painted, no stencils here, yes an occasional letter that could be a bit more perfect... but all will know you went directly to an artist and not a print it off the computer shop.

I have two signs to paint for a local church - yeah. Super packed week but I'm hoping to get this done up and pics posted yet this week since next week opening week and likely even less time lol. But never fear winters coming for sure and there will be painting time if you would like a name or other sign for someone for Christmas though now would be the time to get the order in
