Will start with saying had a wonderful weekend at home canning, we did corn and melon butter with our sakata sweets. Most of you don't know them, they are an edible rind melon we grow on our heirloom produce farm that we are trying to grow to work me out of work. That being said, coming back to the tweed cloth walls after a long weekend of farm markets and canning was near impossible. The closed in cubes, the people walking by to "make sure your working", the sitting for endless hours in front of the computer. I'm looking to grow a sign painting business as I grow out of design and drafting to get away from the cube life. I've been drafting for 15 years in many aspects of it. But my heart is in ART

I dread the commute fighting traffic over an hour each way each day to sit in cloth walls - please help me out of it, I'm good at what I do, I just need clients. Base rate is $20 an hour plus materials and shipping if needed. I will do your sign for you at my house and you can pick it up, possible delivery if close or have it shipped.

I can do many things, many characters, animals, buildings - touch base with me!!! I have been averaging 1-2 hours of work a day at work... in a 10 hour shift, and yet with no orders I can't afford to just stay home either and have to fight the mad rush to get nowhere drivers in the 55 mile commute twice a day. If I had orders lined up...to replace that income, I could stay home when there was nothing to do here.

This one's for the commuters, the every day battle the traffic people

double yellow line, uphill, 2 lane busy highway - 7 people in a solid line going up it. The guy behind me decides the speed limit we're going just isn't fast enough....almost causes 10-12 car pile up.

 This is part of my daily life. I don't want it to be. God gave me a gift, I do sign work, I hand paint gifts I was meant to bring joy to the world through art work. Not fight people like this for an hour and a quarter to hour and a half every single morning and night along with sitting in a tweed cloth walled cube for another 10. Flying around to fight traffic for over an hour to get to a job I just sit at for 10 hours to fight traffic for over an hour to get back to the tons of work that needs done at the farm.

 Husband sitting in his chair feet up reading drinking coffee because he doesn't have an outside the home job, the bills are on my shoulders. Have a great day!! Yeah, I don't have time to eat breakfast. My first sip of coffee is in the Jeep on the highway fighting traffic. Oh and I got here to discover...I still have on the filthy tshirt on that I did chores in before I left the house to fly to work. AWESOME, what an awesome start to day. Yes he does do work around the farm and cans and gets stuff done. But he doesn't have to drive and fight traffic to a job he hates everyday.

your job is a health risk!! yeah, I know

So help me out of it. I can't just leave - cubicles and sitting at a desk for 10 hours IS a health risk. I have carpal tunnel, sometimes I fight depression and anxiety. It's only from being cooped up, I know this already.

 So instead of advice on how my job is going to cause me a heart attack. What I need is customers, orders, shares, likes, somehow a grant to pay off farm. I can't find any real ones, We are not a non profit and all I can find is $500-1000 ones. And those you have to PAY and application fee....for a CHANCE at the grant. Which the grant covers like.... one week paycheck. What about the other 51??

 My work ranges mostly in the $20-25 an hour range, plus materials and shipping on some things like the sign work. We picked up another market so we'll be going Wednesday, Friday and Saturday....well kind of. I can't go to the Wednesday one as I'll be stuck in the rat maze to keep the farm payment and insurances paid. Only YOU can end that for me. I need customers for the art, signs and goat milk soap in an amount that makes the same as the j.o.b. - or funding to pay off the farm so all I have to come up with is regular always bills. My husband will be doing the Wednesday market alone as I can earn more than he can... so I'm the one stuck in an office within cube walls and he gets to stay at the farm :/ We are working hard, and he is working hard, but oh how I hate leaving at 5:30am and getting back at 6:30 pm, milking the goat before I leave and after I come back with little time to enjoy the serenity that I work to pay for.

I think that's what it should be called... I've been doing this 15 years. I need YOU...yes you, to end it. Only you can, I can't sell to myself, can't donate to myself. I need to pay off the farm, and it's a long way off from being paid. But this is my view every day.... and you know what my art looks like if you've read the blog ever. There are millions...maybe billions on google+ - the change in the car seat from a portion would end this.

 Most likely you'll be sitting somewhere in the middle of a large room, often with no window or a darkened windows so no light comes through. The overhead florescent lighting is harsh and gives you a headache, the floor is off-white linoleum and reflects all the sound, and the damn cubicles are a sterile disgusting color that makes you want to tear your eyes out. Other than your computer monitor, you spend your day staring at the fake walls around you with no individualization between the other 50-100 people. Going to the bathroom means walking down long hallways of cubicles where you can't see anyone, turn the corner and it's more long hallways of people pretending like other people don't exist. Same for getting water or a snack. The first couple of weeks you get lost just trying to get back to your own cube.

Your "desk" is a giant piece of plastic and particle board that's been stapled onto the wall. It doesn't move up or down. If it isn't the right height you're propping your computer up with reams of copy paper stolen from the copy room. There's ugly gaps in between the sections where food crumbs fall and collect. Your chair is likely a nasty piece of work that never fits you right. Although it does go up and down the armrests are at set intervals so they always hit your desk or are completely useless. If you managed to convince HR that you need a keyboard tray (after going through multiple ergonomics training sessions and filling out a bunch of paperwork), you can rejoice that maybe that will save your arthritic wrists (but probably not your soul).

I'm a farmer, a country girl, a fisher woman - I drive over an hour in a sea of traffic to be inside of a cloth wall maze with florencent lights for 10 hours... to drive over an hour in a sea of traffic, often times with people not paying attention and crossing over lines so you have to swerve to miss them. I am exhausted, the only time I'm at the farm is to do chores. I am paying for a beautiful piece of land, with the prettiest view off the deck. But I don't get to be there. I'm gone 7 days a week for what? Just to pay off what I make to be able to never be there. Why can't I find my clients??? Why can't I find people that would support art work, old fashioned sign work, fresh good for you food??
